The Chanel Beauty Shop is warm, inviting and beautifully arranged. The idea was to create a unique shopping experience where the client will feel at home. The color palette reflects the French label’s design heritage. There are shimmering gold tones, and of course the classic black and white. These colors serve as a neutral backdrop for the never-ending rows of saturated lip and eye colors.
Upon entering the new concept shop, I was invited to have a seat and to relax while Chanel’s National Makeup Artist, Kirk Mills, gave me a “mini makeover”. As I was pressed for time, I requested that he concentrate mostly on my eyes. Kirk had impeccable taste, a strong sense of color and perfect technique. I fell in love with the Quadra Eye shadow in Ecolsion, the Stylo Yeux Eyeliner in Grenat* and the Lumiere D’artifices Beiges, a highlighter that produces a natural, soft glow. Amazing! He also introduced me to Chanel’s Lift Lumiere Concealer, which is very emollient. Perfectly formulated for the under eye area.
Above, are some details from the Chanel Beauty Shop. The first photograph is of my illustrated makeup card that the artist gave me after he had completed my makeup application. The second picture is a part of the Chanel cosmetics “island” where the mascaras and crayons are displayed. The last image is of Chanel’s Rouge Coco lipstick. I like the intense, juicy color and the repetition of forms. Ahh Chanel, I love you!
*The Grenat eyeliner is a rich shade of aubergine.
