More than 550 fans of Oscar de la Renta came to pay homage to the designer at the Schumacher estate in Lake Tahoe Saturday, August 4th at the 43rd annual fashion luncheon benefiting the League to Save Lake Tahoe. The benefit presented by Saks Fifth Avenue San Francisco started with designer Bill Blass in 1969 and has since evolved into a widely anticipated fundraising event for Bay Area & Northern California socialites.
Attendees including Marissa Mayer, Barbara Brown, Dede Wilsey and Eliza Bolen, Executive Vice President and daughter of Oscar de la Renta, watched as models came down the 68’ lakeside runway. The Resort 2013 collection being shown was classic Oscar, saturated hues and ladylike elegance. His palette ranged from graphic black and white to cobalt blue, to scarlet red, to emerald green, punctuated with dresses in glittery metallic fabrics. One of his signature bridal gowns closed the show.
*I wonder if the kid in photo #3 (lower right hand corner in the green hat and striped shirt) enjoyed the show?
