Last Friday, Saks Fifth Avenue and the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary welcomed Zac Posen as the guest designer of its 32nd Luncheon and Fashion Show, this year at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Zac Posen showcased his Fall 2013 Ready-to-wear Collection. Chaired by Claire Stewart Kostic, the lavish event benefited the San Francisco Ballet. O.J. Shansby, San Francisco Ballet Trustee, served as the Honorary Fashion Show Chair.
As part of the Media covering the benefit, I loved seeing Zac Posen’s Fall 2013 collection live! His color palette consisted of autumnal hues, with surprising pops of ivory, citrine, orchid and anthracite. Seeing the exquisite details up close was an amazing experience. The embellishments included soutache embroidery and precise, origami-like folds. Posen focused less on gowns than in previous seasons, but there were still plenty to choose from. His signature feminine silhouette of nipped in waists reigned supreme, many of the dresses drawing audible gasps from the crowd (including the burnt orange and rich Merlot looks above).. But most impressive was the sensational canary yellow duchesse style with gold soutache embroidery (photos 3 – 5). The design was magnificent especially in that color. It was pure glamour pushed to the limit!

**Earlier this year, Naomi Watts attended the Golden Globes wearing the crimson long-sleeved gown pictured in photo #8 (third from the left). Zac Posen is renowned for figure-flattering creations and this dress was no exception! It was one of my favorite red carpet looks of the evening!
