September is the Spring of Fashion. It’s always exciting to see what’s coming up next! Let’s begin with a few highlights from Oscar de la Renta’s Spring Summer 2014 collection. The designer presented his breathtakingly beautiful Ready-to-Wear show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on September 10, 2013 in New York City.

Oscar de la Renta featured chic and luxurious separates, but for me it was all about his ladylike cocktail dresses and red carpet ready gowns. I love the duck-egg blue sleeveless frock with the magnificent crewelwork embroidery (shown above). The floral handwork looks as if it has been lifted from the wardrobe of an Elizabethan queen, but the modern silhouette keeps it from being too costume-y. Oscar loves to bring the drama and bring it he did with his strapless coral taffeta and silk tulle entrance-making evening gown. I love the texture created by the frothy layers of tulle, it gives the dress a beautiful unfinished quality. Making sure that no detail was overlooked, the dress was accessorized with Oscar’s signature big drop earrings in an eye-catching jade green hue. The result? Pure fashion fantasy! And finally, Karlie Kloss’ sublime ivory column gown wowed me with its impeccable craftsmanship. The feather light tiers of pearl and sequin embroidery are absolutely exquisite!
