Nestled in the hills north of West Los Angeles, in the very exclusive Bel-Air neighborhood, there is a hidden treasure, the Hotel Bel-Air. This enchanting oasis beckons with lush landscaping that includes fountains, a pond and graceful white swans. The romantic ambience alone is enough to draw you in and sweep you off your feet!
Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Bel-Air for an evening. It was my first time at this magical resort and I must say this place is superb. Featuring old hollywood architecture, rich history, regal decor, the latest amenities and world-class service, the Hotel Bel-Air is perfectly positioned to become your new favorite home away from home.
This prestigious hotel carried out a meticulous reconstruction a few years back. The designers successfully retained period details while adding contemporary style and cutting-edge technology. The luxurious rooms exude an understated modern elegance. I stayed in one of the Canyon suites and fell in love with the spacious patio, open fireplace and private heated pool. I’ll admit that I was a little nervous when I learned that all the lights are controlled from the guestroom phones, but I was impressed with the easy to use system. Everything at the Hotel Bel-Air is state-of-the-art.
Part of the renovation included the addition of the La Prairie Spa. As the only Forbes ‘Five Star spa’ in LA and one of only five spas in California with this coveted award, I knew I had to book a treatment. Set in a beautifully serene space, the La Prairie Spa is so gorgeous! The treatment rooms are dressed in shades of cream and white, with exquisite light fixtures acting as artful points of interest. Not to mention, the changing rooms are outfitted with every La Prairie skincare product imaginable. As a licensed Aesthetician, I have a real thing for skincare and massage. My spa appointment was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. I highly recommend booking an aromatherapy massage with Zumi. Her technique was outstanding!
Don’t forget to indulge in some delicious cuisine at Wolfgang Puck Hotel Bel-Air and then have a night cap in The Bar & Lounge. I also loved having brunch on the alfresco terrace at Wolfgang Puck before my departure. The menu showcases the breadth of California’s culinary strengths. The food is excellent and the attention to detail is astounding. I am still dreaming about the house made granola and Greek yogurt parfait served on the delicate china with the thin black trim – so chic!
The Hotel Bel-Air dedicates itself to providing guests with an extraordinary experience. Combining old world elegance with modern convenience and a contemporary flair, the Hotel Bel-Air is poised to impress even the most discerning of travelers.
