Feminine draping and intricate embellishments are signatures of the Italian fashion house Alberta Ferretti. The designer has amassed a steady red-carpet following thanks to her figure-flattering goddess gowns.
Staying true to her romantic aesthetic, her Ready-to-Wear Spring Summer 2015 collection opened with a series of blush beauties made in whisper-light chiffon. These diaphanous dresses exemplified the house’s insouciant brand of femininity. As the show progressed, a bohemian vibe took center stage. Think woodland fairy meets Pocahontas! The girls wore shorter frocks and lace-paneled jumpsuits in white and lilac. Accessories included suede sandals that criss-crossed up calves. The sandals themselves were trimmed in fringe at the ankle. There were also long suede vests thrown over swathes of white embroidery. The suede details added a youthful spin to the delicacy of the fabrics. Alberta Ferretti’s collection has a breezy feel that makes me long for warm weather getaways.
