I can’t talk about Paris Fashion Week without taking a quick look at cult fashion favorite, Céline! Creative director Phoebe Philo is the genius behind the French luxury brand. Elegant and elevated ready-to-wear as well as instant-classic handbags define the Céline DNA. For SS 2015 it was all about conceptual style meets feminine chic.
There were A-line silhouettes with cut-outs and tank dresses fitted close to the body with yarn-fringed flounces. Just like the previous season, buttons were used as a decorative accessory. A beautiful example of this is the ivory jumpsuit with black buttons positioned along one leg. The effect was flattering and infused the timeless design with a contemporary edge. Florals in flowy fabrics added whimsy to the otherwise neutral color palette. The mesmeric patterns were a bit retro in feel, but the pieces themselves were perfectly modern. Another highlight was the eye-catching red and cobalt blue knit dress with the irregular hem. Phoebe Philo is an expert at creating must-haves for those in the know.
